Help me please :(

for those with after market wheels, do you have different tyre settings for the front and rear?

A few months back i posted about hearing cluncking noise (like metal expanding/hitting) the under chasis.
This occurs when i come to a near stop in slow traffic, or stop and go traffic (as in a traffic jam).

My friend with a GTR33 said he had similar problems with his car when he had different tyre settings. This combined with the 4WD system, contributes to the said noise.

Is anyone experiencing such a problem?

Im desperately trying to solve this problem. The porsche serivce guys said this has happened to a few customers already. And it is related to the differentials or LSD.

are you driving a cayenne? if so all tyres should be the same size...no staggering sizes on the cayenne...that is for sure...AWD should be matched that is for sure otherwise there is a problem with the computer....this is hwat i was told as well....have the cayenne but put 20's with lowering springs cause of the bad roads in montreal.....

so none of you guys have such said problems?

Would help if you guys can do a test for me.

from a standstill, go forward for a few meters or so, then brake hard.
Repeat this process, so it's sorta like the car is on bumper to bumper traffic (real life HK enivornment)

STOP-GO-STOP-GO-STOP-GO-STOP-GO.

I just can't beleive that Prosche said it's a known problem...

I mean Christ the car isn't cheap.... and they have the decency to tell me not to drive it as aggressive... Hello it's HK, we are stuck in traffic jams 70% of the time on road.

sounds like might be coming from the brake pads?

i wish it was the brake pads.
Sometimes it feels like some used a sledge hammer from the bottom of the car.

Sometimes it's near the rear or just underneath the seats. Metal cogs mismatching and rotating sound.

Anyone tried the tests??

just a suggestion. sorry couldn't be more helpful. wish u're here in the states so we can take a close look. if u say the noise is loud that'd be funny if the dealer can't spot it. but again, not sure what kind of service u get over there.

oh the dealer and i went out and recreated the noise. They heard it and felt it alright. The yjust said a few cayennes have such problems. Then my friend said the tyres are the problems.

So now, not sure which way to go...
So was wondering if the USA delivered ones had simialr problems.
