I've combed through a lot of threads on here and simply can't seem to find this answer.

I have a 2005 Cayenne with the CDR23 unit, the Bose sound system, and no CD Changer. The CDR23 is already on the fritz, cutting in and out and throwing up the Protect error for no reason. I'd love to have some basic auxiliary or bluetooth streaming function while keeping the stock look, but I can tell this isn't going to be easy. I understand I can send in the CDR23 unit to Becker for the $125 mod, but I'd also need them to fix the bugs that currently exist in the unit, and it's not really worth it to me to have them do all that for mono audio.

I did notice that the CDR30 is compatible with an aux interface add-on from factory, and they're relative cheap on eBay. I love that the orange screen aesthetic jives with the early-2000's interior of the car too, so that's leading the pack if it's possible. Which brings me to my question – has anyone successfully swapped out a CDR23 for a CDR30? Could it possibly be (dare I say it) plug & play or are these two different eras and I'm wasting my time going from one outdated troublesome system to another?
