Sidemarkers...entire fenderliner must come out?

First mod (Thanks Controlit!) - do I actually have to take apart the entire fenderliner? I can't seem to get to the top bolt of the sidemarker otherwise...took off a few screws, but not enough room to get to the top bolt.

Thanks.

emissary is infamous around these parts
When I installed mine, we just had to pull down the topmost part of the fenderliner; it was difficult and didn't want to budge.

Here's a thread containing a rennlist link for detailed instructions on installing clear lenses (including how to get to the tricky second bolt) should you need it:

Thanks guys for all the tips...there is one screw I can't get to so I just put everything back together and will ask Arling and the Lucent crew to put them in when I pickup my other parts next week.

You know you're getting old when you can't put your own parts on LOL!!!

Its not an age thing ;-). I am just a young pup @ 25 and would consider myself to be mechanically adept. (Am currently restoring an 1970 Chevelle, have built engines, installed brakes, brake lines, fuel lines etc etc) But I also had the dealer install my clear markers. What it boiled down to is that I didnt feel comfortable pulling/tugging/prying as hard as would be required to access the second, more difficult, screw that holds in the side marker lens on my $70k vehicle. It takes maybe 30 minutes to install both clear side markers, but its just easier for somebody who doesnt own the car to tug vigorously against the plastic fenderwell.

It took me about 35 minutes, I decided to take the wheel off and take half the liner off as well, it was still a pain in the a.... to get to that bolt on top especially if you don't have the right length tools.

Its worth it though the clears look great! Good luck!

Thanks Bill, I've only got 6 years on ya - but your comment makes me feel better Car will be going to Lucent to get the sidemarkers as well as some other goodies on next week!

Your going to kick yourself when you see how easy it is!

For everyone who has done this before. Did you happen to notice significant dirt built up in your radiators? I was rinsing all sorts of crap out of them on my CTT.
