got a cayenne titanium for loaner

my car was in for service. i was given a loaner that had 150 miles on it. i was not able to get my car back before the weekend. i eventually got my car back and the dealer did an excellent job.

in the mean time, i had to be at a dinner meeting in solvang. so we took the cayenne and spent a whole weekend in this wine country.

total miles: 298
average speed: 42
mpg: 14

great experience overall. lots of power, great handling and just a pleasure to be in it. however, the nav sucks and the interior seem outdated. i guess that is why the new one is coming out.

Agree that the nav sucks (good thing the wife has to deal with it) - interior is the same in the new Cayenne...

Trovan, you should have come out to Maui with us last week, though it was a little windy.

I disagree. The Nav in my '05 and '08 Cayennes is great. Easy to enter addresses or Points of Interest, very easy to store/name entries. The display is bright, concise and easy to read.

Much better than the Nav in our BMW, Audi, Land Rover and Mercedes. (The Land Rover is extremely primitive, although not at all unexpected from this Ford-influenced product. For example, it has voice recognition .... but unless you speak with a proper British accident it keeps asking...."Sorry?").

Not sure what you're looking for in Nav, but the Cayenne's has it all for me. Especially easy to use/enter while driving.

i guess everything is relative. i would have to say that my brief 3 days with this nav gave me nothing but pain. my wife's nav on her acura is about 10x better. heck, even one of those gamin portable is easier.

but i don't question the porsche may not be too much off form the bmw, RR, or MB. however, i think all these makers have a lot of work to do.
