Key remote battery

I put my key in the ignition and the dash gave a fault saying they key battery is low. I looked the battery fob quickly and have no idea how to open it to see what battery is inside??

Any idea on how to replace the key fob battery?

just pull the back off. open the key up and tug at the bottom part of the back of the key...under the porsche symbol...it will pop off

my key had same problem and I took both keys to the service, they gave two new ones.
I think the battery should be charged during driving.

there is no such thing as charging the battery while driving. The only battery that gets charged while driving is your car's main battery

get some CR2016 batteries for your remotes, you should be all set..

first of all, those lithium CR2016 batteries are not rechargeable. If your dealer believes so, then ask for whole remote replacements every time you run out of battery, telling them that there should be a problem with the remote itself. Other than that, seriously, your car does not charge your remote batteries at any time It does charge the main battery that your vehicle uses to start up the engine and for other stuff though..

See the seam separating the upper half from the lower half? The lower portion is the battery cover.

Flip open the key and pull that panel off.

Take the fob key to any watch repair shop
they have the cr2016
make sure the battery is Sony or Panasonic batteries, they would last longer..

The car can *never* charge your fob battery, there is no charging mechanism in the fob and it uses non-rechargeable CR2016, (although I just checked my 2005 Cayenne Turbo batteries which were not operating too well and it has a CR2032 installed).

Yep. Insert it into the ignition switch, turn to the right and release. Then drive to the dealership......... they'll do it for you in about 5 minutes......... while you look at the cars on the showroom floor. It's not worth the time to play with it, drive to the store anyway and do it yourself.
