Problem with Ipod on 2011 Bose
Problem with Ipod on 2011 Bose
I have an '11 TT with the stock Bose and am having problems playing music from my ipod. When i first got the car the playback was spotty where it wouldnt read the ipod or play music. Then for the last couple days it has been seamless and immediately starts playback when i select Ipod as the source.
Today it went back to giving me problems where it shows a track as playing but i get no sound. I press the mute a few times or cylcle through sources and it comes on or I turn the volume **** and it comes on all of a sudden and way to loud (because i was playing with the volume ****). I disconnected it to see if that would fix the problem and now the ipod is not recognized at all. The ipod shows itself as being connected but nothing appears on the PCM.
Has anyone had similar issues? Anything you have done to fix the problem or any suggestions?

Odd that the problem seems to be intermittent. I don't have Bose, just the PCM. That said, I think the speakers/amp/sub are the main differences between the two. I've used both an iPhone and iPod touch with the latest Apple software installed and haven't had any issues. Could it be the iPod software? I've read the new Nano also has compatibilty issues, but haven't tried it.
The I-phone 3GS, 4G, 4th gen Nano and 4th gen I-touch has not given any problems on my Bose (997.2) or the Burmester (CS). Check with your dealer OK and keep us posted. Good luck, don't sweat it. They should be able to fix the problem.

Thanks for the help guys. It apparently was the Ipod. I switched out the ipod touch for my old school Ipod 30gb and it works fine now with the Porsche logo even showing up on the ipod (which didnt happen before)

Mine did EXACTLY this. Since I have stopped advancing songs less (just letting it run) it has been flawless...but you described my CTT Ipod experience to a "T". Waiting to see how it works over the next little bit...
Which ipod? I was using the Ipod Touch Gen 1 with that experience. I actually went to the original and older Ipod with the dial and the experience is now as it should be and pretty flawless. It has the software that came on it years ago. I also tried a basic USB connection and that worked fine as well.
