Not sure ... because it looks really integrated. Might be able to but will need to replace the dashboard..etc.

Good question, I too am interested. Should be a simple parts swap, the dash piece that holds the speaker is housed under there and the cut-out looks to be the same dimensions. luiscarlos, let us know what you find, I would like to do the same.

The problem may be that the compass functions are controlled by the computer etc

I should have said parts swap and a trip to the dealer to be programmed. My PCM with nav has a compass and I believe the elevation is built in as well, in other words, I would think the unseen hardware is in place.

Maybe Suncoast will see the thread and pipe in.

So here's what I found out with the help of Sonnen both by email and looking at their schematics online.

The assembly would consist of the grill, 2 clips, 2 wedge nuts and the compass itself. The grill that holds the compass snaps into place (I pulled mine off last night, pops straight up with your hands stuck in the vent slats, took 2 seconds) and there is no visible wiring harness end that I can see that’s waiting to have the compass plugged into. Sonnen advised the compass would need to be coded by the dealer but didn’t know where the harness is. Unfortunately without seeing a current compass wiring, I don’t know if the harness is further down in the dash, or the harness end isn't installed So, without a current vehicle to inspect the wiring, I don’t know how big of a process it would be to find the wiring harness end, or even if there is one. Answers could be had by someone popping off their compass and advising where the wiring goes too…

I know Cayennes don't have extra non used plugs, they make a specific wire harness to each car depending on the equipment the car was ordered.
So if this is correct we will also need the proper wire harness to plug the compass to somewhere.
