Pulled the trigger...
I was going to order new but got a good deal on a slightly used (<5k miles) '11 Turbo that was optioned well so I pulled the trigger on it. I absolutely love it!!
Specs are:
--Meteor Grey
--Black interior
--21" Turbo IIs
--18 way adaptive seats (must have for me, love them!)
--Premium Package Plus
--Front/rear skid plates
--Running boards
--Panorama roof
--Instrument dials in white
--Porsche crest on front headrests
--Carbon fiber interior incl. selector
--Compass display
--Burmester
It also already had a full bra kit (hood, rear view mirrors, door/edges, behind handles, rear bumper) and the front windows tinted to match the rears.
I really wanted the sports package, but couldn't justify the price differential between this one and ordering a new one. Figure if I don't know the difference it won't hurt me. Plus reason to justify adding a new 911 a few years from now. ha ha.
I've attached a couple iPhone pics of the new and old rides ('09 E90 M3).

Hope there are no rules on this board about posting prices... :-)
I paid $115,000. MSRP when new was $127,210 and the best price I could negotiate locally on ordering the same build in '12 would have been a touch under $123k.
Factor in the the full bra kit and window tint and I saved about $10k over ordering a new '12 with the same build.
Also, the warranty on my CTT was punched on 1/29/11, so I only lost 7 months of coverage by buying used, which also factored positively into going this route.
FWIW, during my search I made some good contacts at a couple of local dealers who were able to find me other slightly used Turbo's for even less than I paid ($105k - $110k), but they were not optioned the way I would want.
My point being that I found this was a good way to find a deal on this type of vehicle rather than just relying on what is listed in dealer inventories and on websites. All the vehicles these guys found for me were long time customers that buy the latest thing or a new car every year, so these salespeople are basically always on the lookout for someone to take their customer's current car(s) off their hands so they can sell them a new one. They are never going to be in a dealer's inventory.

I'm actually torn between getting the E90 M3 or V6 Cayenne and a distant 3rd, X5 3.5x
I know, totally different vehicles. I was thinking 997.2 Cab, but wife changed your mind and wants something with 4 doors. I even tried to convince her that the Cab has easier access to the back seats but it didn't fly. Panamera is out of the budget. So, down to these 3 vehicles... I know you bought the Turbo so probably not missing too much in terms of "get up and go".

How did you like your E90 M3? I'm actually torn between getting the E90 M3 or V6 Cayenne and a distant 3rd, X5 3.5xdrive.

Our impetus to look into a new car was that my wife just got a new job where she has to commute to the suburbs often to clients. The M3 wasn't a very comfortable ride for her to do that commute on a daily basis.
Before buying the CTT we were debating between keeping the M3 and adding the new X3 as a second car for her to commute in, or stick to a one car household with the CTT. My wife and I live in downtown Chicago so two cars is kind of a pain to deal with, so we went the CTT route.
I was also motivated to trade-in the M3 as it was just about 3 years old, so I wanted to maximize the resale value while it was still under warranty and before the new 3-series debuts in a few months.
I was also starting to get the itch for a new ride myself and the M3 had a few squeaks here and there that were getting annoying. That said, I want to make the point that I kept the M3 longer, by almost a year, than any car I have previously owned, which speaks to how great of a car it is.
All the cars you are looking at are great. The one thing I will say for both the E90 and the X5 are that they are at or near the end of their lifecycle so depending on how long you keep cars there may be a bigger hit on resale value than the Cayenne which is only in the 2nd year of a likely 7 to 8 year run.
Hope that helps!

Seems very little discount on 2011 stock around here (new or used), maybe 2% off msrp.
