I have a '12 CTT, and when I press the lock button the horn gives a soft honk. I'm very used to the beeping chirp from my Mercedes tho, possible to change the sound on these cars?

I found the setting to turn the noise off completely, if I can't figure out how to make it chirp, I'll probably just do that instead.

 

Yeah it's pretty annoying. I think on my past 997s it would only honk if there was a door open.

How do you disable it altogether?

 

where is the setting to turn it off completely? i agree... don't like the horn.

 

My bad, I thought I saw it under locking settings but I just confirmed its not there. I did read on a couple other threads that dealer had disabled it for other Porsche models, so maybe possible for ours too.

I wonder if there's a third party way to change the honk to chirp?

 

The indicators flash on mine when the alarm is activated / deactivated but I do not get any sound at all. It must be a dealer setting as there is nothing in the manual about switching this feature on or off.

Yes, that's exactly what I want... chirp/beep on lock, and flashing only on unlock!! Did yours just come that way? I wonder if it's something the dealer can change... hopefully the same on both 2011 and 2012.

 

go to dealer, they can turn it off.

Yes. Mine just came that way. Btw, the manual says that the beep on the tailgate can be turned off. My dealer didn't seem to know how. Any of you have it off?
