Reliability Problems?
Hi, everybody, I'm new to the forum.
I ordered my Cayenne V6 on August 15, 2011 at MCL Porsche Vancouver, they told me it was going to be a 6-10 month wait.
Realizing its almost time to pick up my car, I was just wondering if anybody had any problems on there Cayenne V6's.
Thanks.

I don't have a v6, but I have owned my Cayenne since early September and have been monitoring this forum since way before that.
So far it seems that the new 958s are rock solid. Yes there may be an issue here and there, or an odd quirk, but nothing that affects the vehicles drivability, or seems to be affecting the Cayenne line.

You'll hear folks talk about the vibration problems or other things, but every car has its issues. Go to the Lexus forums. I hang out there sometimes, some with new GX's have problems too.
Overall the 958 Cayenne have been rock solid with minimal quirks. I put on over 3000 miles on my '11 Cayenne V6 that I traded in. I took it once into the dealer to place the TSB patch on the air conditioner vent. I had no problem whatsoever.
I think the vibration thing is not much an issue. I believe what's happening is they program the tranny to shift early for better gas mileage. Ours would get up to 7 or 8th gear rather quickly on surface roads before hitting 55mph. And when you try to accelerate in those gear, engine would lug and feel rough. But when pressed hard the gear would down shift and vibe would go away.
The 997 was my first Porsche and I have to say, the 958 Cayenne feels much more modern. Can't wait to see what the 991 is like.
