I have no experience with Mercedes except the times I took some taxis in Berlin and Leipzig
Why not get a Panamera turbo?
Of course, the #1 requirement is getting a car your wife and you enjoy most...so good luck
Ps:guess and try how they pronounce AMG in German..

Just curious why you bought a Cayenne to begin with? And yes, a Panamera Turbo would be nice.

The C63 is tiny. Im 5'11 and I find the cabin too small to classify it as a proper sedan. I pity those sitting in the back seats

C63 is super fun with a great exhaust sound and amazing handling for a MB.
However the ride too rough for a Daily Driver....you feel every bump in the road.

I agree on the rough ride. I test drove one extensively before deciding on a Jag XF instead and found the C63 too harsh as a DD. BTW, on recommending the Panamera Turbo as an alternative to the C63, you can probably get 3 of the C63's for the same cost as a Panamera turbo. Not really the same snack bracket.

I have read up on the C63 since the OPs post
I stand corrected, the C63 actually seems like a good value
Its a lot of car for 60K,so if you like the ride and the interior,by all means get it

I actually came from a C63 to the Cayenne S. The 6.2 engine is a work of art, and the exhaust sound is intoxicating. However, the interior is not even close to the Cayenne. They improved that in the Merc this year, but it's still not designed or executed as well..

They adjusted the ride and it is considably better than my 2009, especially the P31 package. My P30 was brutal.

Two very different but excellent cars.

Well. First off, the C63 won't be 60k if you want any options at all. It will be close to 70K+. And, give this a thought too:

1) This body style will change in 2014 and the new C63 will have a 5.5l turbo next which would save you some gas. Not sure if you want an old body style after a couple of years.

2) Gas mileage will be the same, if not worst than the Cayenne S.

3) It has no room :-)

Not necessarily. I got mine as they were clearing out the previous model year and got nearly $9k off sticker. A buddy of mine negotiated a new order earlier this year and got $6 or $7k off sticker.

While the ymmv tag applies, my mileage is virtually the same - in the 15-18mpg range depending on how its driven. But if you are looking at either of these cars, gas mileage really shouldn't be a deciding factor. They are both thirsty.

C63 can easily be had for less than 70k OTD - loaded to varying degress. For example, early on this year, they had pretty aggressive owner's royal rebates and new owner's conquest rebates - to compete with BMW's offerings. However, if OP wanted something sporty, IMO, Merc AMG is never sporty to begin with. Owned a E50 and kept a SL63 for a long term and both cars never felt sporty in terms of handling dynamics compared to M or P cars. They are darn fast but the transmission never felt as responsive as M cars. For similar pricing, I think OP can also consider the new RS5 or the outdated M3 - though RS5 maybe a bit higher given the demand of the car.
