Nav warning screen and double honk when locking

Got my 2013 GTS recently and love it. However, the navigation has a "Warning" screen every time I switch to the map. Is there anyway to get rid of this?

Also, when I lock it it honks twice. Is there any way to switch that off and have it only flash the parking lights?

My dealer advises that the double honk can be silenced by the service department via laptop connection and software adjustment. I had this silenced the same way on the '13 Boxster and will on the Cayenne too.

Don't know the answer to the nav warning question but doubt that the service depts will make this change.

I don't think you can get rid of the warning screen as that's a liability reason / feature. That warning screen is on every nav system that's factory equipped on every vehicle sold in the USA. I know there are companies out there that has hacked nav's say.. like on my camry hybrid and get's rid of that "I agree" button you have to push or whatever it is to acknowledge that warning screen. I assume the warning screen your talking about tells you not to operate the map while driving and etc etc etc right? haha..

In BMWs, the "AGREE" goes away by itself after a few seconds. Different lawyers, diff companies, diff take on the matter.

I would too, more nanny state crap. My 2011 Touareg displayed it once when new, I touched the Agree icon, and it never appeared again. The horn thing doesn't bother me though, and actually evokes memories of the RoadRunner.

Along those lines has anyone removed those anoying yellow stickers from the Alcantara sun visors. I know what to use for leather or vinyl, but afraid to apply solvents to the alcantara...and unlike the ones on Ferrari these do not peel off.

It would be fine with me if it disappeared after a while, but it apparently does not. I find it annoying as I should be able to accept the risk one time, and then move on.

Or rather - stupidity should clean out the gene pool eventually and the damn confirm screen just shouldn't be there.

Anyway, on my old Touareg, I could switch it to european mode and it wouldn't show up any longer as well. I believe at one point it disappeared.

Oh well. Guess I should chalk this warning screen up to the "you can't have drinks larger than 16oz" government.
