Like I said previously, color is a personal choice that only you can make. I am getting the Jet black Metallic paint with the sport Edition wheels in black. There have been a few postings on the advantage of the JBM over regular black if you want to search around.
I just did an imaginary build of a GTS to see what you are talking about and I am confused by the 3 selections for the Sports Edition so I am going to step back and see if someone else can clarify that.

Even if they aren't perfectly the same I don't think you could tell the difference. My meteor grey 08 Porsche Cayenne the plastic bumpers didn't match the metal body and no one quite saw the difference but me. The fender and wheel have a lot of separation.
The exact match question may be better answered by your local dealer though. What was their answer?

I will go ask today. I am actually leaning towards the carmine red/turbo II option, but will likely be fickle until I sign the papers this saturday

Hey folks, I finally took the plunge and placed the order today. Well I made the config and put a deposit... I have until Monday to change options until it is submitted. Here is the final build:

Carmine Red
21" turbo IIs
Black 14 way seats
Panoramic roof
Auto dimming mirrors
PDLS Plus
Privacy glass
Entry & Drive
Reversing camera and sensors
rear sunshades
4 zone climate control
ventilated seats
heated front and rear
LCA
ACC
LED lighting with extended
Carbon fiber MF wheel
Carbon fiber interior with selector
Carbon fiber illuminated kickplates
PCM
HD+Sirius
Online Services
Bose
PDCC
PVT Plus

A few questions/thoughts:
I am actually getting a pretty good deal (compared to what people seem to be getting for custom builds when researching online). It actually barely keeps me within my budget although this is on the pricer side for a GTS. I did not get a good chance to sample Burmester vs Bose, but I figured that I honestly only listen to my ipod and the radio when on the road so I wasn't sure it justified the cost. That being said I could knock off illuminated kickplates and ACC and easily get it with no major change in price. Also, as much as I love carmine red... it's $3k for paint.

Also, a thought my dealer mentioned to me which I haven't heard before. I asked him about PDCC and PTV plus. He mentioned that it may be helpful and wouldn't try to talk me out of it only because I am going with 21" wheels. He said that if I went with smaller wheels, they would really be the limited factor in how well the technology worked and would likely not be worth it. He actually tried to talk me out of PDCC, PTV Plus and Burmester.

A few other additions... I am going with the 4 year prepaid maintenance package and standard warranty. Seems to be a reasonable way to go since I drive my cars into the dirt.

Also, he is trying to persuade me to get a clear bra for the car... just seems to be steep and likely not worth it. I would rather put that money towards Burmester!

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but I finally put in the order!

That sounds like a killer arrangement to me. Like some have mentioned, the Burm doesn't seem worth the big $ increase over the Bose.
Many guys on here insisted on me getting the PDCC, PTV Plus so I did and can't wait for the fun driving they describe with those.
Your order is loaded with goodies. I saw the side window sunshades after I already made my order and I regret not getting them after seeing them in operation. There are many postings on here about the clear bra that you can check out. Congrats!
Rob.

My advice?
Order everything you Really want.
You can't retrofit Carmine Red, Burmester, PDCC.
I would triple check the Maintenance Plan. Compared to other cars I have had, the 958 is trouble free. May sound odd, but i would put that money into a clear bra. Properly installed they ain't cheap, but really work and make detailing the car easier.

The only thing I am going back and forth with at this moment is the illuminated CF kickplates. The dealer told me they stop working after a few years. Seems strange to me. I just wish I could see what they look like in the illuminated and non-illuminated forms.

Otherwise, the more I think about it, the better I feel about the build. The red is a no-brainer for me. I just hope this won't be too flashy and cause problems.

My last minute decision was which wheels to get. Both look good on the red.

Porsche Turbo II wheels for me but if you can, get them in black not grey because they would contrast as much as the second one but still look bigger visually.

Turbo Wheels make it look Classier and just as Sporty.
The Carmine may be the only Porsche color that the Yellow Ceramic brakes do not enhance.

I like the sport edition wheels better but I bet they are a pain to clean.

Awesome build! Can't wait to see pictures of it.

They are pulling your leg to tell you they go out as early as they do.

IMO, the Turbo IIs suits the GTS theme better, they look more agresive and sportier.
I don't think the black version of the SportDesign wheels look nearly as good as the silvers, specially on a red car.

You only live once.... the order went in today as I had it. Definitely super excited. I will likely discuss the clear bra and tire/wheel package at a later date with my dealer. Now we wait!
