The sound quality of many of the SAT stations is real bad. It has been explained on here beofre about the way they compress the sound ruins it which I agree. Some sound better than others.
HR radio- I won't even go there on how screwed up that is.
I am liking the live traffic lines showing traffic flow by 3 different colors.
My 3 month Cayenne promo is up April 9 so I called Sirius to find out how much just the traffic reports would be and they are $4/ month. That isn't bad. Then she told me they have a promo running (which I'm sure they do all the time) which was decent to so I went for it. 6 month deal-
$4.17/month for all the channels already in the radio + $3.99/ month for the traffic.
So I paid them the $52 with taxes for 6 months. Just wanted to share that.
But they will start charging my credit card at full rate after the 6 months so I will call before that to try again.

Google "sirius $77". Worked for me for the past few years on 2 cars and a boat. Less costly than adding 2nd or 3d radio to existing account.

 

I got even better...25 for 6 months! I just let it lapse and then got an email offering 6 months for 25! The catch, cancel the subscription before it ends, otherwise they will bill you 100 for 12 months.

 

Yes, it is clear you have to cancel or they will start charging full price. I have my calendar marked for that.
Now I what I paid was about $25 for months for all the music channels but I added the XM traffic for about another $25 a month so that makes the $50for 6 months. did you get both for $25 ?

 

No, I don't have the traffic. No need for it where I live. Still, overall a good deal for us!

I see I typed incorrectly before. It should have been $25/ 6 months for regular channels and $25/ 6 months for traffic. Those are approximate prices, with taxes it was about $52 total.

 

Yeah $25 /6 month is the going rate discussed on many forums. And it also depend on the rep you talk to. I called in and they said no more special offerings. So I hung up and called back, got $25/6 again without cancelling.

Last night I put a route in and the British girls voice re-routed me because of traffic congestion and helped avoid a backup. That was really a treat worth the monthly traffic info charge.
And I enjoy the British girls voice even if I have to look at TIRE spelled TYRE-

And as someone pointed out here recently, they spell CURB as KERB

 

Does the XM traffic integrate with the PCM navigation?

 

Yes. Just run through the menus and make sure you check the appropriate boxes to allow it to re-route you.
I am leaving early tomorrow to make the trip from Long Island to Maryland, then Myrtle Beach and maybe Florida. I am hoping to see it function that way on the trip.

Yes and it is fantastic. Saved my bacon quite a few times by re-routing me to avoid traffic. Highly recommended at least in the NY/NJ area. With the traffic package you also get weather info but I never use it.

 

now the 6 for $25 deal does not include traffic. They try to rip me off by offering traffic for something like $89.99/6 months on top of the price paid for radio. I don't commute enough to justify it, but for those who use it, it's a very well integrated system.

My iPhone traffic works fine and it's free.
