just saying ** air suspension

Picked up My 2014 Cayenne Diesel yesterday. Equipped with PASM & Air Suspension.

All I have to say is Air Suspension destroys 'springs'.....no comparison. Do not drink the kool-aid....air suspension is a MUST.

A base cayenne with springs and no PASM has nothing on a PASM-AIR equipped Cayenne.......nothing..... So for anyone on the fence???...get off your wallet and get the PASM-Air...you will NOT regret it.

had to be said

Yeah its a nice thing to have very comfortable, almost feels like floating, but a bit bouncy over bumps IMO.
I think the steel springs give a more controlled ride, not bad at all.

no way. the air suspension comes with PASM. PASM in sport mode is as 'stiff' as it gets...no floating.....'comfort' PASM gives that floating feeling but on the highway its a dream. 'normal' and 'sport' settings do not feel floaty at all. Again I will say it...no comparison...IF one must get springs than at the very least get PASM without Air which is possible on the cayenne. I driven the steel spring touraegs, porsche cayennes......for the minimal $$ 'spare' the 20's or the '2 tone' leather and get the performance upgrade with the Air PASM

The "kool-aid" drinking would be about PASM/Air/PDCC being a "must", so you should be encouraging the drinking. ("drinking the kool-aid" is a reference to a cult that was outside the main stream. Steal suspension would be the main stream in this instance as Air is the (relative) new comer)

Those options (PDCC not available on the diesel) are indeed nice options that change the vehicle, but not everyone actually needs them and after running mine through a day of AutoX I can attest that the base suspension/chassis is quite capable. Sure the alphabet soup would make it better, but I would argue that lower profile tires (I have base 18s) and better brakes (not that these are bad by any stretch) would have far more bang for the buck for such use.

I'm happy for you that you got it and enjoy it and I'm sorry you happened to be the "air rules and steel sucks!!!!" post that broke me

I definitly dont think the steel suspension sucks...i just think the PASM w AIR is head and shoulders above it..

point i was trying to make was to people who spend the $$ on visual options as opposed to PERFORMANCE....lets be clear, 20" rims and steel suspension simply dont mix. Spend your $$ on performance. The Cayenne is another beast entirely onroad and offroad with the PASM & AIR.

i know the air suspension is generally better than the steel springs, but after having driven both kinds several times, if someone covered the center console and dared me to guess by driving it whether i was in a spring or air car, i am not sure i could...i think i could but the difference isnt so big that i am sure i could. i find both springs and air on the cayenne a bit on the firm side. the bentley gtc...now that's riding on air. at least it felt like it to me.

My 2013 GTS was great at first, but in comfort mode it got a little stiffer after 6 months. My wife's 2012 panemera feels a little softer. Maybe the GTS is supposed to be stiffer.

It is... all Porsche GTS models get one of the more firmer suspension setups. The submodel is supposed to be the "sportiest" option. Not sure how that holds up with the 911s since they have the GT3, GT3RS, GT2, GT2RS models.
