Steering feels loose all of a sudden

I have about 7,000 miles on my 2013 Cayenne. When I drove it yesterday it felt different, as though the steering wheel was less connected to the tires. It did everything I asked but I didn't feel as confident as usual in the turns.

I'm calling the dealership in the morning but would like to hear thoughts from you guys before I explain the situation to the dealer.

Any thoughts?

I will check the psi's with the manual -both fronts & backs
have symmetrical numbers on the display.

The option is called servotronic, though blowing the fuse for that would make it heavier, not lighter.

Actually, its called power steering plus in 2013 as we have it too.

It is obvious that loosing it might make steering heavier...

I googled the subject and a thread mentioned to check the power steering fluid levels...?

For the record, I assume you did not switch to winter tires. If pressure is the same, then it is unlikely to be tire issue.

Actually it's both. They changed it sometime during the year. It was Servotronic when I started to spec out a 2013 V6 (mid-late spring), but by the time I switched to my Diesel (July) it was PS+.

It's all very mysterious - at least so far.
The yellow tire warning light came on. I drove around close to home for a while and the steering was very sloppy - then after about a mile it was back to normal [and at the same time the warning light went out].
[As I mentioned, tire pressure is good].
At least I feel more confident about driving 25 miles to the dealer for a check up.
If they come up with anything during a diagnostic I'll post it here.

Though servotronic / power steering plus have been ruled out already for your case, just for the record, pulling the fuse also does not throw any warning lights.

FYI, the yellow tire warning light that came on said "not learning".
Do these cars have occasional computer glitches?
