Interior Squeak and Rattle

Guys,

Anyone else have this experience?

My 2012 CTT w/ 17,000 mile has developed a loud interior rattle. I have isolated it to a plastic frame-type piece inside the left side of the glove-box. The plastic piece flexes and generates what sounds like a rattle, but is actually squeaking of the plastic as it flexes.

At some point I'll take the car to the dealer, but my experience with these types of things is that they don't really put much effort into fixing it, assuming I'll just "get used to it"

Anyone?

I would hope the dealership will do something. My GTS has 10,500 miles on it and I have an annoying rattle coming from somewhere in the drivers door. I'm going to want that taken care of for sure...

My glovebox however is silent...

Is it the plastic rubbing on other plastic?

The plastic doesn't appear to be rubbing against anything. The noise sounds like a rattle, but I can make it stop by immobilizing the specific plastic piece. I can also duplicate the noise while the car is stopped by flexing it.

The plastic piece is creaking when it flexes. I think the weight of the glovebox door (with just the owners booklet inside) is causing the flexing.

I've had/have interior rattles. Quite a few. They have been fixed for the most part but certainly disappointed in build quality at this price point.

I am curious to see what suspension setup do you have and whether it is secondary to the standard suspension or air suspension.

Having the dealer try to fix squeaks and rattles always worries me. From my experience, they always find "a" problem, but necessarily the one I wanted fixed... Hopefully you'll have better luck!
