I was very surprised to see the new Cayenne GTS is a twin turbo V6. I fully understand the various benefits of that decision, but I thought that Porsche would hold firm on natural aspiration for the GTS - on all models.

Eventually the hybrid tech will trickle down and be perfected so that electrical power can be used to eliminate turbo lag. But aside from that there is the issue of a boring flat torque curve and the fact that turbos kill the exhaust note (not convinced by the attempts to simulate exhaust notes with the audio system).

Also the bump in price is a lot. It's now turbo money! The new S seems like the most logical choice. Tweak it in the future and you can get gts performance easily.

 

feel the same way, but it just made me sooooooooooooo happy with my '14 GTS

 

Get the last NA V8s while you can!

 

I just checked momentum in houston and all the GTS's are gone LOL but the still have 14' S's

 

I picked up a nice 14 meteor S from West Houston, couldn't pass up the last V 8 Cayenne, PSE gets fitted next week !
