Redesigned Cayenne?

All,

I just bought a 2016 Porsche Cayenne V6 which I absolutely love! (I was considering that or a BMW X5). My wife is likely to change her car in the next few years; which model year is it likely Porsche will change up the current generation?

Thanks

generally on a 6-7 year cycle with 3-4 year refresh/lci

given the '15 refresh you are looking at 2017 to buy a '18 brand new model.

There isn't even a mule out there yet unlike panamera which should be here 2016 for '17

If I remember correctly it is 2018, but I don't remember if that is MY18 or in 2018 (MY19).

Excited to see what's to come with the purportedly '959' Platform !!!

I'd venture to guess more aggressive exterior styling - as the interior had the big overhaul recently. We'll see!

You can check the new 2016 Audi Q7 in the meantime. I think the next Cayenne is going to be based on that platform. Though most likely the ride and handling will be totally different.

As an aside, this is going to be the last year if you want a Cayenne that is assembled in Leipzig. I think 2016 model year cars will be totally assembled in Slovakia.

Which is why I used the quotation marks - the supercar of yesteryear definitely has the 959 designation as a nameplate.

Whatever the chassis designation of the next gen Cayenne is, I'm sure it'll be an evolutionary step forward no doubt.

Unless something changed the new Q7 is based on the 958 platform. So far the Cayenne has come out first, followed by the T-Reg, and finally the Q7.

I also seem to recall reading that this is the last time the Q7 will share the platform as they want to make it longer than the current platform will support (and they want to keep the C and T roughly the same size). Take that with a grain of salt though as I don't remember where I saw that.

I saw a new Q7 at the Grand Canyon last month. It has a decidedly station wagon look to it. Originally, the Q7 was to roll out a couple of years ago but was scrapped for whatever the reason (google it) and came up with the current look. Not for me.

Yeah the way they extended it during the 957 years (at least I don't remember the original Q7 looking distinctly different) to add the 3rd row ruined the look for me.

I think the new Q7 is on an all new MLB platform. the next gen cayenne, t-regs and the Bentley bentayaga is suppose to share it.
