need help diy for headlight
Can you clarify what you are asking for help doing?
Swapping the housings is a simple task, but if you are talking about going from halogens to xenons that is not practical.
To remove the housing there is a tool in the back that you use. Open the hood and on each side there is a hole with an open and closed lock icon. Insert the tool and turn appropriately and the housing will pop free. As you pull it free you'll need to unplug it. To reinstall, reconnect the wires, slide the housing back in, and turn the tool to the locked position. Porsche has to have the easiest heading housings to work with in that regard.
If you want to upgrade (xenon or led) that is a bigger issue. I have no idea about the new LED lights, but the power requirements are different between the halogen and Xenon lights. You also have the auto-leveling system that would need to be added (halogen to xenon) and I think some coding is needed. The xenons and halogens use different fuses which suggests different wiring as well.

thank you Gnat, I just need to swap one headlight , some truck was dumping plastic on the freeway and hit my headlight, I have a big hole..
do I have to recalibrate or just change my bulbs and ready?

Which do you have and are the bulbs damaged? If it's the xenon and only the casing is damaged, just move the internals in and pop it in. The auto leveling will do the rest. No idea about the halogens.
Hope you got their insurance. Those housings are expensive.

You said you had PDLS right? Are you sure the new ones are PDLS? (Check your PMs, if what I suspect is true, then I know they are PDLS
)
Make sure that the parts you transferred from the are seated properly. Make sure the electrical connections are snug and seated properly. Finally you need to make sure the housing itself is seated and locked back into position correctly.
Was the old light still working before the swap? Other than things not being seated properly there is nothing about the housing that would stop it from warning.
It would take a lot of force to break the housing, it is possible that the shock damaged something in the mechanism itself (even if the light continued to work, messing with it could have been the final straw).
As it turns out (texted my body shop), my suspicion was correct. You have one of my old housings. I can confirm that when they came off that they were working fine and my P!g has PDLS. Funny how small the world is
