Has anyone tried to remove and replace the center console keypad?
I'm looking to replace it because the SPORT and AUTO ON/OFF buttons are "sticky" and making it difficult to depress. I'm speculating that it's from a sugary beverage.
I still don't understand why Porsche decided to put a row of buttons next to a set of cupholders, lol.
The dealership is charging me close to $500 to replace/repair. I'd rather do this myself as the part (p/n 95861315300) is about $150. I've searched through threads (and googled) and can't find the proper instructions. Any help would be much appreciated!
It's likely that you have to remove the vents either side of the nav/radio.. disconnect that.. then unscrew the console from there.. there's instructions to remove the surround from the shifter here..

1. Remove the center vents to expose the screws retaining the PCM. Follow the steps outlined at the Macarbon site. I found these tools make the job easier:
Use one for the top set of tabs, one for the bottom set. Once the tabs are compressed, I found it easiest to pry from the bottom of the vent to get it to release. There is an electrical connector at the bottom of the vent that can be disconnected by simply pulling it apart.
2. Remove the PCM. There are four Torex screws holding it that are exposed by removing the vents. The PCM needs to be out of the way to get the center console trim out. There are some instructions at these links:
I did find that the bottom guide on the PCM may catch the center console trim, just carefully work the PCM past this barrier. Disconnect the wiring harness and five other color coded connectors at the back of the PCM and set aside.
3. Remove the shift ****. This can be tricky since you can easily break things. Some instructions at the links
4. Remove the center console trim. No screws, just pry gently with a trim tool to remove.
5. There is one screw retaining the switch assembly that needs to be removed. Then pry with a trim tool to get the clips retaining the assembly from the rest of the center console switches. One connector on the bottom to release.

Hope this helps
Awesome, thank you for the additional information...this should be very helpful.
Once I attempt this, i'll document it as well for others...i'm sure this will eventually happen to someone else lol
For anyone wanting to pull apart the button module, here's some pix.
Note that around the sides there are some small slots. Gently put some pressure inward in those slots to release the tabs.
Also note that all modules come with the same rubber button membrane, and appear to use the same circuit board. But the hard buttons on the top are different depending on features, and the circuit board may or may not have an LED on it depending on the button feature located at that position.
From what I understand a replacement button panel would have to be programmed specific to the features in the vehicle (while IN the vehicle). They don't come pre-programmed, nor would the control module automatically recognize the buttons on them.
I have successfully removed and reinstalled the center console buttons and, well, all of them. The folks from T-Design came out to DC and sampled the LIN bus signals my '17 958 sends for them. Now they have a memory module that'll overcome the auto stop/start 'feature' along with being able to remember sport and PSE modes.
Has anyone had success removing the climate control panel? Are they individual pieces (Left side climate, right side climate, center door lock/ac panel), or is it just one large panel?
My drivers side fan speed vent is stuck at the max position, and won't budge from there, so i can't move it to a lower speed. The button appears to have sunk in, so before i make a trip to the dealer wanted to check if there was an easy way to remove the climate panel and inspect it.
I have taken the entire center console button array out. The climate stuff is part of one large assembly. I did not break that part down further. All of the cables plug into the center of the U-shaped assembly. I believe there are separate circuit boards for left/center/right, but they're all contained within the one plastic shell. No doubt the buttons are all separate pieces, and it may be possible that just some small part of yours is jammed. I don't know if any of the parts are available separately. I'm guessing Porsche treats the whole assembly as "one part number".
Removing it is a chore and will involve removing the center vents (which have four tabs each inside the vents) and loosening the PCM (which has just four torx screws). The vents/PCM need to be out to allow the console to pivot up for removal (it tilts up from the back toward the armrest).
So, if you're careful, you should be able to tear it all down and gain access to the fan speed rocker. With luck it'll just be jammed/blocked by something. There's two switches for each rocker, could be one or the other is dead or has popped loose from the circuit board.
I'd plan at least a full day for a DIY tear down/reinstall. But it'd certainly be do-able if you're handy. Plan on having several sizes of Torx screwdrivers handy, some plastic panel removing pry tools and a lot of patience.
Oh wow, this is awesome, and exactly what i was looking for. I'd gotten as far as removing the vents and the PCM, and wasn't sure how to go about removing the console. The issue described in the video is *exactly* what i have, except my fan speed rocker is stuck, and in the video it's the temperature rocker.
I'll give this a shot again today. Thanks for the video and concise directions!
