Rear windshield fluid not working

I am unable to get window wiper cleaning fluid to pump to the rear window. I think it might be clogged up. Front works fine. Anyone with similar experience that has fixed it? Are there separate pumps for front and rear?

Thanks in advance for any relevant info/experience.

Same pump for the front and rear. The lines can get clogged or they can pop off the connection in the tailgate. I would check the nozzle first. The retaining cap holding the nozzle just pops off and you can remove the assembly. Once removed try the washer fluid again. If it squirts out of the hole, clean or replace the nozzle.

I had to replace the rear wiper motor assembly. Link to what happened to me below.

WWilliams advice is spot on. These are prone to snot buildup in the metal tube going through the wiper shaft that then clogs the nozzle. With the nozzle off it will squirt out several feet.

Thanks Deilenberger and WWilliams. I popped off the clip on cover and the little nozzle popped off and fell to the pavement. Glad I wasn't over a storm drain because it landed 7 ft or so behind the car. Checking car with the nozzle off, the water shot out backwards like a rooster tail from a jet ski.

Cleaning the nozzle was not easy. The stuff was not water soluble and there was much more in the two little nozzles than would would believe could fit in there. After rinsing a few times and still seeing this red gunk come out, I took a wire and twisted a few thin strands together to push into the nozzles. More stuff came out. Seeing the wire from the feed hole was good thing. Nevertheless there was still a lot of stuff inside! Finally after numerous more rinses and using needle nose Tweezerman tweezers all along to pick the stuff out of the feeder hole, I got them so when I put under faucet I could see them streaming out.

Snapped things back together and it seems better than new.

Might be worth ordering a new nozzle.. it seems that once it's popped off it never quite fits tightly on the little tube that it mounts to, and some dribbling takes place. New nozzle is only about $10 - pennies for a Cayenne part.

I also cleaned out my old one, and it worked, but the new one worked better.. not so much the volume of water - more the aim.

It took some force to snap it back in place and when it did, it was a clear click so I think it's good but I'll keep an eye on it and yes that is cheap for a Porsche part. Actually I was surprised it was so hard to snap back on because when I lifted the cover off initially, it didn't seem hard to do and the nozzle went flying. Maybe when you replaced the one you cleaned it wasn't completely on, hence the aim? Thanks again.

Worked perfect on my 2013 GTS... I used a sewing needle to clean it up... thank you!
