Question What Is This Nipple For??

Hey all, I posted this on my build thread but didn't get anywhere. I have a question. I know, famous last words lol. In my latest installment of "what did you break on your 958 today?", I am dealing with a new PS reservoir, and mocking up ideas for catch cans I want to run. I came across a nipple barb T that appears to be connected to the y-pipe plenum or PCV system. I'll copy-paste from my build thread below. Does anyone know what this is and whether it goes to something or if I need to plug it up? Thanks in advance

I did see something that caught my eye. I don't think I have many people reading this thread, but I'd appeal to anyone who can tell me what I'm looking at... and if it's any cause for concern. It appears to be a T hose coming from/to the y-pipe plenum (underneath) and somehow tied into either the PCV system or the AOS system. Trouble is, there's a barbed end nipple or whatever just kinda sitting there, chilling all by himself with no female hose to inset himself into... Pun intended. I don't know if this is normal for this vehicle? Perhaps it's just a remnant or leftover part of the variations of hoses and intakes run on all the different Cayenne engines in 2011 and just doesn't have a purpose for my Turbo model? I don't know if this should be hooked into something, or just venting to the atmosphere as it appears to be doing. Does anyone have any ideas? I tried to circle the part in question in some photos below.

part in question... does this go to something? should I plug it? or it's fine like this venting to the atmosphere?

And I found another homeless capless hoseless nipple barb tonight now. What the heck! Lol I wonder if a hose is supposed to go between them. It's a tight squeeze area. I might have to stop by a dealership at this point and ask since the interwebs are silent. I hope I am able to A) figure it out and B) help someone else in the process, even if it's 5 years from now when someone reads this thread.

The new hose-less nipple I found tonight is connected to a piece with part number (996-605-155-00) and Google tells me that's a "Secondary Air Injection Solenoid". So weird. The two homeless ***** shaft-shaped barbs I'm referring to seem to be slightly different sizes (ha, ha, very funny), so I'm not sold on the idea that a hose connecting them both is missing. And the hose diagram I am able to find online isn't really all that helpful. But I could be looking at things totally the wrong way.

When I Googled that part number and found the name of the part, I also found threads talking about its failure and CEL and other issues. I'm experiencing none of that. Unless any idle hesitation I think I feel sometimes is related. I have never owned nor driven another Cayenne so I have nothing to compare it to. I just assumed it was normal.

Anyone?
