Hello I just installed leistung dual muffler with xpipe , Leistung secondary Cat , K&N airfilter and ipd plenum ... The increase of power is phenomenal . The last mod I installed was the muffler and It made huge gain in power and sound .. Now the problem is that from 1000-2000 rpm the sound is very very loud , so loud it makes you with head ache !!! It makes a sound like like a tank , something like yyyyyy and than after 2000 rpm when the turbos kick in its sound very good like a V8 should !!
So I am waiting for the downpipes ,diverter valve and cold air intake and I am afraid the exhausg is going to be louder than that o.O

So I decide to put an universal xpipe to the exhaust system right like the supersprint exhaust !! I hope it decreases a little the decibel , if not I should put oem muffler or a silencer somewhere

My new 3" exhaust system is not that loud.. even at 1000 - 2000 RPMS. Is this a 2.75" or 3" exhaust? Where is the current xpipe located in the system (as per your post)? Do you have on the stock tips?

I have stock exhaust diameter so I guess 2.5 Yes I have stock tips Here you have my muffler and what I want to do is to put an x-pipe in the marked area right after secondary cats , just like supersprint exhaust I have noticed that all my drone and sound comes from the secondary cats right under my feet

And also x-pipe is supposed to decrease decibels

ez1973 is infamous around these partsez1973 is infamous around these parts
I bet your system is loud because those rear mufflers are almost non-existent!

Guess you are wright ... First I had a small custom muffler , it had drone but minimal . But now at 1000-2000 the drone is crazy I love the leistung dual muffler because it sounds crazy after 3000 rpm and I gained a lot of torque, but it has to much drone and sound at 1800 rpm
At 1800 rpm it sound like 120+ decibel

so after putting an xpipe in the middle of the exhaust right after secondary cats , the drone is gone !! and also as described xpipe lowers the decibels too .
So it removed the exhaust sound , turbolence from my feet , in the secondary cat and send it in the muffler ..

so anyone who wants to eleminate drone an xpipe is the wright choise , it costed me only 80$ plus 30$ for the welding , that a lot less than supersprint 800 euro xpipe

about the hp gain , I am not sure , I think I have lost a little power or not gained any .. or maybe its just me who got used with the new power of the car ..

For some reason, I did not receive any notification of any updates on this thread. I am glad you got it resolved. Additionally, I am not surprised that an xpipe removed drone, lowered the decibels, and potentially picked up power in the process.

Moreover, I agree that those are not rear mufflers. Those are large 18-24" inline resonators. Even though you were able to mitigate some of the annoying loud sounds, I think those resonators were the root cause; just not enough there in terms of mufflers. As such, expect it to get much louder when you remove the primary cats.

Good luck!

Oh....good! I am glad it worked out. Thanks for letting me know. It was tricky pouring over those few pictures and trying to figure out the right angle bend for you. I am glad my little bit of experience paid off here.
