Help identifying thumping noise.

Hello everyone.. Just came on board here at 6Speed and thanks for having me. Recently purchased a 08 Cayenne base. I am getting a thump sound coming from the right front end at low speeds. It happens when I am at a roll and punch the gas. Only seems to happen at low speeds, then goes away at higher speeds.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is a worn front lower control arm bushing. Mine did that under a sudden braking or acceleration. Check the control arm for wear to the rubber bushing that allows for metal to metal contact.

Are you shure its not coming from the center console area?? the center hanger support on the rear drive shaft (cardon shaft) is a common problem and the sound can travel ! It starts by a thumping sound like someone hitting the bottom of the vehicle with a rubber hammer when you accelerate quickly ... then get worse as the support fails !! I would rule that out first.

Thumping while turning could be CV joint too. While you are under there take a look at the boots and make sure they are in good condition and not ripped or torn.

Great username by the way, I LOVE pretty much anything Padron.

You won't believe this one.

Guy's, thank you all for your import. They finally found the problem. One of the sub-frame bolts on the left front was hanging on by two threads. Problem solved. $6.00 bolt. I hade them all replaced. Again, thank you all...

Wow, that doesn't sound good at all. Glad they figured it out!! And it was cheap to boot! You don't get that often with these things.

No your right. Exactly what the mechanic said at Porsche. That's why he recommended replacing all of them. Thanks again.
