I think this is pretty cool. The "race" looks bogus, especially the rolling start against the FSpyder, but the idea of a car that can do 0-60 in 3 seconds, do an 11.5 quarter mile, and get 170 mpg is intriguing. I am not sure how practical driving an Ariel chassis around town would be, however.

Apparently they are going to be giving test rides at the Clean Tech conference in Palm Springs next week. Any enviros on this board (won't hold my breath )?

I call BS... they said it runs the 1/4 mile in 11.1 @ 112, that is physically impossible, that trap speed is waaaaaaay too low for that ET. The CGT runs 11.0 @ 132. What was up with all the wheelspin on both the 360 and the CGT?

I'm thinking about buying an Ariel Atom. The 400hp model is in the high $60's...it runs the 1/4mile in low to mid 10's @ 140mph+.

$150k for the TYCO electric car? I don't think so.

 

Yea that is kind of skeptical with those runs.. I would never drive around in something like that, i rather have a bike which is just as fast

Yea of course i saw the Ariel Atom which this seems to be same shell lol but just electric, its very fast, corners and handles like a go kart but i just dont see it as a street car Now for a track car that would be awesome!
