Einszett Glanz Wax-What did I do wrong?

Used their Metallic polish wax first. Easy. Then applied the the Glanz Wax. It was a ***** to get it all off. Rubbed like hell and it still looked streaky. Thought I followed the directions. What did I do wrong?

Glanz wax is pretty finicky. It is an awesome product.

Couple of things.

if it is hot out or you put it on in the sun it will flash over too fast becoming like concrete.

if you put it on too thick it will continue to flash over, you wipe it off, it will flash again. making a streaky look.

The key to glanz is learning how much is required, and how long to leave it on in a given temperature setting.

1/4 oz should do a 4 door sedan by hand or by machine. I put two panels on, wipe two off, put two on. during cooler winter months i can apply it to whole car with out issue.

in 65+ degree weather. 3-5 min cure time, in cooler weather 10 min or more is possible.

You can clean up the streaks with Lackfinish and or ONR 6:1

Glanz Wax is very finicky.

Another issue could be from your prior application of product to the surface. If you didn't get it all off, or didn't allow enough cure time in between applications of the different products, it can get very streaky and hard to get off.

Also, was it humid? I have had some issues taking that wax off around dusk when the humidity starts to rise, it has a tendency to streak then as well.

As was suggested, an ONR mix or basic quick detailer should be enough to help you get it off streak free.

both grouse and j edwards are correct in what they have said.

Einszett Glanz can be the easiest product to use and sometimes a pain.

Glanz is probably one of the easiest waxes to work with. If you have streaking, simply wipe down with einszett Detail Spray.

You won't be dissapointed with results.

Give the surface a prep-sol or alcohol wipedown prior to applying it. It should help to cut down any streaking issues and increase the durability of the wax by giving it the best possible bond with the clearcoat.

I would not do this if you use Metalic first, it will remove the metalic wax & fillers. Really Glanz seams to work best after metalic.

Use very little, do about 1-2 panels at a time, & don't leave it on the paint for more then 5min.
