Auto leprosy... HELP!

I bought a bottle of Einszett ****pit Premium to keep my interior clean. I've applied it on my 997 interior (on plastic parts - dash, door, etc) over the weekend and now there are hideous spots EVERYWHERE that I can see under the sunlight.

The spots look like they've been sprayed on. Thinking that I didn't apply properly, I reapplied, trying to spray as evenly as possible and wiping it down with a MF towel.

It seem like the spots have gotten worse... Has anyone else experienced this? Any products you guys recommend to get rid of this?

It sounds like you sprayed the product directly on the surface. The reason this happened is because you probably had some sort of conditioner already on the leather or vinyl. ****pit is simply cleaning that area. Wherever you see a lighter color spot, is where ****pit has sat there longer.

The fix is simple. Either wipe down the area with ****pit again, this time spray directly on the mf towel then wipe the panels. The other option, the one i'd do, is clean all the surfaces with a true cleaner like autoglym interior shampoo/cleaner:

http://www.glisteningperfectionstore...ttle%2C/Detail

Then you can apply a true conditioner like:

http://www.glisteningperfectionstore...Care%2C/Detail

http://www.glisteningperfectionstore...x-vinyl/Detail

Or, after cleaning with the autoglym, re-apply the ****pit. ****pit is a hybrid cleaner/conditioner. It does a little of both, but isn't meant to take the place of either. Think of it as an interior detail spray designed to get dust, fingerprints, scuffs, etc. off.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. There probably was some other conditioner on the vinyl...

At first, I too thought that the cleaner sat on certain spots longer than others, so on my second go, I methodically cleaned the interior both ways, spraying directly on the vinyl (wiping immediately) and on the towel- and it didn't seem to help. So that's not the solution...

I have a similar product, plastik reinigner, so tried that out tonight. I'll report back on how it looks in the sunlight tomorrow.

As always, appreciate your comment.

*Edit*
Silly how the first four letters of the word "****pit" are blocked out. c0ckpit?

Plastik Reinigner did not help. Spots are still there - ugly. Worried that they may be permanent...

OK...that helps a lot. Looking at your picture that is of the dash above the speedo, I can see how shiny the surface is. The lighter gray areas are where the ****pit penetrated and cleaned. Your best bet is to get the autoglym interior cleaner I recommended:

http://www.glisteningperfectionstore...ttle%2C/Detail

You may want to get it in the gallon and 500ml bottle. You're going to spray the autoglym directly on the surface. Make sure you do this in a cool place, not in the sun or hot weather.

You're then going to agitate the surface with a soft bristle brush, like a shoe polish brush. This will get the product deep into the pores to pull out any conditioners from prior applications.

Then wipe the surface dry with a soft microfiber cloth. It may take a few applications over several day, but you'll get the job done. Once the surface is uniform and matte, apply a good leather conditioner that's not greasy like:

http://www.glisteningperfectionstore...-924805/Detail

or

http://www.glisteningperfectionstore...wissvax/Detail

Good luck and can't wait to see the after pictures.

The shiny surface illusion is from the flash. the dashboard is actually very matte, and had been treated with matte finish cleaners in the past.

The dashboard was perfectly clean, matte, and spot-free prior to einzsette ****pit premium. i guess it's the last time I'll use that product.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll give it a try.

I had the same problem initially when I used the ****pit premium. I sprayed it directly onto the surface and it caused that blotchy look. I then did a little research and found that you should spray it onto a microfiber FIRST, then wipe the surface. Good call Mo.

Can you share how you got rid of your spots? Did you have to use a different cleaner to get them off?

Given that this isn't a unique case, the bottle should NOT recommend spraying it directly on the surface...

Honestly, I sprayed the c0ckpit (<--hehe) premium onto a microfiber quite liberally then just rubbed and rubbed until it came off. It was only in a small place when it happened to me, so it cleared up pretty easily.

If it's widespread then I would get another cleaner and fully clean the surface first. I would try the Einzett Plastic Deep Cleaner.
