Thumbs up Great Results With Modesta BC 5

I took the plunge and had Modesta BC-5 applied to the M5 and 997TTS.

For those who do not know what a glass or ceramic coating is, its a harder clear coat that last a long time (w/good qlty product) Opti and Modesta are both 10 years+. With a light wash you will get that just waxed look every time. The coatings repel water and dirt much better then stock. They are also impervious are impervious to salt (for those up north). Also much more swirl resistant. Best of all NO MORE WAXING !

***DISCLAIMER(I suck at taking photos)*****

John from Gulf Coast Auto Shield worked on each car for over two days and it took a total of 20hrs (each!) including the prep and polish. I can't describe how happy we are with the coating. They look is awesome!

He finished the M5 at 11:30pm so we could not take any really good photos. It rained the day after the install but i did manage to get some pics. The photos just don't do this coating justice. I can say that the water just beads away its like a everlasting rain x for the car. When I arrived at my destination you could not even tell that the car had been rained on! All the water had bedded off. VERY COOL !!!

The feel of the coating is something I have not experienced before. It hard to describe/nail down. Very smooth and almost much like the new iPad air touch screen. At one point John told me I had to stop touching it! I could not resist.

John guided me on some better washing practices and walked me through each step of the prep, polish and coating. He took off cleaned and coated all the rims, calipers, exhaust, glass and lenses with Opti coat pro, lens, glass, and Modesta BC-5 for the paint. He was very meticulous and worked his A** for two days. John also installed Opti Coat Pro on our Infiniti QX.

John applies Modesta and Opti Coat Pro to a lot of BMW, Porsche, lambo, Ferrari, Cars trucks, corvette, tesla, and Audi here in Houston. He come highly recommended.

GLOSS, GLOSS and More GLOSS

THANKS JOHN!!!!!!!!!

Looks good, not in love with the Nano per se. The video I have seen on the Modesta is more like what I am looking for. I know everyone looks for something different in their paint from a depth, clarity and gloss perspective, you did a great job as always on the car.

PM me what you didn't like about nano. As for Modesta, let's see how much in love you'll be once you know the price tag 2.5X what you paid for the current nano coating

worth every penny. Its add 3-5um to the cars clear coat. Its very thick and noticeable to the touch. can measure it with a paint thickness gauge.

Great info, my trusted detailer I am sure will test the product out here soon and advise his thoughts and observations on the manufacturer claims and so on. Good to know that you are happy with the product.

It won't be for everyone. It'll be a case by case application. It's like someone thinking your RS5 purchase was not necessary. Obviously, you're smart and it made sense to you for reasons only you can justify. Same with this product. There are extreme situations that the cost of a super coating like this, if in fact it performs as mentioned by others, is not a choice, but a need.

In the meantime, there are other options available that do make sense and are a good value. The coating we put on your RS5 is a cutting-edge product from Germany. I got your PM and as you mentioned, photos taken online and what you see in real life from other products don't always paint the real truth. I'll chat with you about what you can do to get the "look" you're after.
