1995 Ferrari F40 LM GTE Serial Number 85015
Michelotto was commissioned to update six F40s into F40 LM GTEs between 1993 and 1998. Each car was rebuilt to the then current BPR GT Championship specifications and so were built beyond F40 LM specs. The major upgrade was the tipo F120 B GTE engines which were revised beyond F40 LM specs and horsepower to a staggering 800bhp in unrestricted form or to 660bhp with the air–restrictors in place.
During the BPR Championship the F40 LM GTEs were easily the best looking cars on the grid despite their age. Only six GTEs were ever built by Michelotto: one in 1994, three in 1995, another in 1996 and one final car in 1998. Four went racing, all of which were updated to the latest specification each season. These four F40 LM GTEs were exceptionally quick cars that could out–perform McLaren’s mighty F1 GTRs, the GTEs taking four international wins and finishing on the podium 13 times between 1994 and 1996.
The F40 LM GTE we have on offer is one of two built for an American collector and was never actively raced. It features the 800 hp unrestricted tipo F120 B GTE engine and is the ultimate weapon to utterly devastate your neighbor’s rather mundane F40 LM at the next Ferrari club track event. Fully serviced and race–ready. In concours condition and priced right at $750,000.

Nope - don't have $750k lying around and No that F40 isn't worth $750k. Typically race cars are worth LESS than their street legal counterparts(noted expection is the F50 race cars). For eg, 360 challenge and 355 challenge are usually way less than their street versions.
The GTE on Sheehan's site has been there for a while. Some low mileage F40's in mint shape have sold anywhere from 540k-735k recently. It wouldn't surprise me if this GTE gets revised upwards in price to correct for recent sales. Someone should act quickly....
You are completely wrong. The ferrari race cars get more then the street cars. Only exception is the challenge cars like the 348, 355, 360 and 430. But real race cars get a LOT of money

Someone doesnt know his Ferrari's. F40s have gone up in price recently, and are commanding big money. Hard to find one for under $350k.
I don't understand your comment. I never said anything about stock F40's prices and their recent prices. I was specifically talking about the race cars.
Ritesh, there were so few true F40 LMs and GTE's constructed, that they command a premium to regular F40's. I think the blue french LM is currently for sale a 1.5 million. Their rarity insures that they will always be collectible and always be hard to acquire.

Here is the famous blue F40LM that raced at LeMans, finished 12th overall in class, and is for sale at 1.5M
