F430 ceramic question ...squeak ?

F430 ceramic question ...squeak ?

hey question if anyone can help ... my ceramics are really squeaking on a daily drive ...you think they are low car has 7500 miles ? ......... don't see them low on pads or rotors? any measurements i should take ? thanks i don't want to go to the stealer i mean dealer and pay 10k for a break job ..

I think you may need shims behind the pads.

Squeeking does not mean brake replacement. It could mean vibrating pads or a minor rotor problem.

Ceramics should last a whole lot longer than 7,500 miles.

And from whay I understand it's a whole lot more than $10K to replace them. It was $30K+ on an Enzo before the dollar devalued so much against the euro!

Try contacting martin@girodisc.com. He has shims for standard pads and may have them for the ceramics.

isn't squeaking normal on cars with ceramics? i think i've read alot of people have this common issue...

The squeeking to which you refer has characteristically been known to be the driver's noises for having purchased the vehicle with ceramic brakes!!!

Not typical with this generation CCB's. I would assume your car is under warranty and would recommend a trip to the dealer.
