97 355 Spyder??? How much???

Well I'm not to familiar with Ferrari's so I figure this is the best place to ask. What would be a good buy retail for a 1997 355 Spyder with 13,400 miles? Car is Red/Tan with Tubi and Challenge grill. Its also had its 30k done. TIA!

Really appreciate it! Looking on usual websites its difficult to get a good grasp on the prices. How far off asking price are F-cars usually exchanging hands for? Some of these prices like from DuPont seem a bit inflated as usual.

If it's in especially good shape, which it sounds like, around 75k. I've seen them go for as little as 60, but typically in less than stellar shape.

Check Ferrarichat.com for all the info you could want about a 355.

+1

Go through the service record to see if the valve guide issues was taken care of. It's problematic for the early 98 and older. Headers could present a problem but if it has a tubi already, you should be Ok. As always, do PPI....it's the best $400 you will spend. Trust me.

Another thing, the soft top on 355 spiders are notorious for its disfuntionalities with varying degrees of severity. The majority of 355's experience some degree of malfunction. This won't be cheap to replace. Good luck on your search. Check F-chat ad section.

seller has the choice of asking any price but buyer will pay what the market actually bears. what he paid is totally irrelevant today.

the Arm&Hammer family paid $148k for my current Anzianos WideBody Porsch four years ago. i paid $70k for it 3 months ago....and i listed on Ebay last week with a Buy It Now of $64k.....(not $70k)

now back on to 97 355 spider mkt, the car in question should be priced in the low to mid 70k assuming all checks out. good luck to you.

You could find a very low mileage, full history/service GTS for that, if not less. Seller doesn't want to sell it very badly at that price. Keep looking.

Well since no one in their right mind would buy that car for so much, I'd suggest you give him your number and your final offer. Let him sit on it, do some more market research, and realize his price was off. Just be patient, he'll probably be calling you.

Also, I'm not sure where you live, but if it's anywhere up North he has to keep in mind that winter is approaching. People tend not to buy exotic sports cars (especially spiders) in the winter.
