I have to give it to the 355 though, considering the price and power difference between the 2.

I drove a 6 speed F355 Spyder last summer, paid $150 canadian for half an hour. It wasn't the greates because I couldn't go over 5k rpm, and I had to have a person with me. He did however let me go 205 km/h on the highway, not bad I guess...

Typically ferraris arnt ferraris till you get to 5000 RPM

I imagine the 355 just had a better launch since it's easier to launch a car with less power.
