oil for 360?

getting all the fluids changed next week and trying to decide what weight and brand to use. a lot of people say the shell helix sucks, so why pay 16 dollars a quart for something so average. Brand suggestions and weight suggestions from fellow 360 owners?

TIA

Try vegetable.

Seriously, though, call Ferrari of Orange County. Tell them that the car is low and you want to put oil in. See what they say in terms of weight. Given the climate down there, I seem to remember them using a slightly different weight than recommended.

Redline 5w-40. Shell Helix is expensive and not particularly great. Mobil 1 has made some changes to their formula that most experts don't like.

For street driving with little track use, Redline or Motul 5w40.

For track days, Redline or Motul 15w50.

You could use Mobil 1 5w30 (the old formula, not the new 'extended mileage' crap) as well, but the others are better sauce.

After running whichever you choose, send a sample to Blackstone and they'll be able to tell you exactly what it's doing, and if you should be using a different weight for your driving habits.
