Dyno

Anybody install a dyno in their garage? Pics? Any drawbacks or things you would change. Best Brand (preferably an all wheel set-up)?

I dont know the real point of one? Are you doing personally tuning? Unless you race semi-professional or something I dont see the point in dropping that kind of money.

I have always wanted an inground dyno. The closest one is a couple hours away from where I live. I would also set up dyno days for the local guys. People spend more money on more stupid stuff than this.

With the new DynaPak stuff it wouldn't be completely unfeasible. Especially since you could recoup your money (plus some) doing dynos for your buddies/car clubs, but I've never seen it, and that is way too rich for my blood (and my HOA wouldn't be a fan either...)

You better check with your local officials on the legality of having a dyno in your garage. A buddy here in KC a few years closed down his shop and moved his mustang dyno to his mom's house since she had a big detached garage. The city shut him down from using it for personal use since the house was zoned residential and not commercial.

You have to run a hell of a lot of paying dyno's to get your money back.

It would take a long time to pay back from the original purchase price of the dyno. Those are not cheap plus like others said, if you aren't zoned commerical you will have problems. It would be cool to have but not for what it costs. I can never find a dyno in town when I need one.

The Dynapack is the only one that won't take up the whole garage....I have a 4wd version which stores neatly under the workbenches when not in use.
