Would you track these tires?

Based on my last post I am going to be getting a new set of R888's, maybe even a new set of 18" CCW's and R888's, but in the meanwhile, I am going to Cal Speedway in one week (9/20) and I just took my track wheels off with the MPSC's on them and noticed that one of the rears has a tiny bit of cord showing and it has a little "staple" looking thing in the middle of the tread... I took pictures of both... Should I use these for this weekend or is it not safe?

I have a set of fronts that I am going to use but I don't want to buy new rear 19" tires if I am switching to 18's in a couple weeks....Plus I doubt I can get MPSC's in my area by then...

you should not pass tech with that tire, especially at Fontana where you will reach some real speed...if it is self-tech you are putting yourself and your fellow participants at unnecessary risk...nuf said...look around the forums and check with your buddies who track and see if you can't get a couple take off 19's that will be good enough until you get the R888s...

I just swapped out my MPSC the fronts were very similar to your photos, the rears were a little better. I swapped all 4 tires out just for safety. I figured I was a half to one and half track days left on the rear, not worth it IMO.

I would just order your new wheels and tires, you will need them soon anyway.

I know what you mean, I only have one week before the track day though, so i'm trying to get thru that day and then i'l order the new wheels and tires...

I actually only need one rear MPSC, the other will probably make it...
