I went to the RUF place today to drive a 996 GT3 they have for sale, and was closing in making a decision when they took me for a ride in a 997 GT3 (cobalt - gorgeous decked out car) with a GMG exhaust.

OMFG!

That exhaust is amazing! You hit 4k RPMs with Sport Mode engaged and this race car scream erupts which is pure "butta". That glorious sound!

Okay $35k more...is that too much to have that sound in my life?

That cobalt GT3 they have is more than just gorgeous. Unique color on a GT3 with the unique touch of Ruf.

I would love to hear that exhaust in person, how does it compare to others? Is it just the muffler or the whole rear section?

So 996 GT3 and some amount of free cash, or 997 GT3 with aural bliss, but ramen noodles for lunch and dinner every day? Hmmm... I am topping out in the $100k range, unfortunately. There is no way in hades I could get to $140k.

 

Sure you could. I have one very similar to this and it's worth every penny. You only live once...

 

If someone wants to give me $50k for my car, I might be able to swing it.

Is there anything that sounds even remotely close on a 996 GT3?

I asked the RUF guys for a video clip of that car at full tilt, and they sent me one, but where would I host it?

 

We will have a 996GT3 exhaust upgrade available around the end of the year that sounds pretty close to this..
