993 GT1 Street Cars?
993 GT1 Street Cars?
I had no idea where to put this because it is more of a limited run car like the GT2's 3,s and CGT's. HOw many of these cars were mad in both street and race form. Anyone have one?
I saw pictures of a GT1 clone from cars and coffe if thats the same car and a yellow GT1 race car as well. I belive Don Wallace has or had one at one time.

I think around 15 street version at 1 million each but I don't know how many race version. Some have 993 headlights and taillights and the last ones 996 headlights and taillights.

I the FIA requires 25 street cars to be built for the cars to run in the category the do. Thus why the CLK-GTR also has 25 road going versions.
I have seen 2. A silver one in Daytona (where I live), and a silver one in Germany. The German car was in the showroom on consignment. The dealer had sold one to the father and one to the son, and the broker I was with tried to get me a ride in it, but the battery was dead.
25 911 GT1 Strassenversion were created to comply with FIA GT1 regulations. It boasted a 544HP watercooled turbocharged 24V flat 6. Capable of 0-60 in 3.3sec. w/a top speed of 235mph. The carbon fiber body allowed the car to weigh in slightly over 2400lbs.
There are several of these beasts in the US. Here are 2 that a buddy of mine photographed at the CPA-PCA Porsche Swapmeet 50th Anniversary in Hershey, PA...which the Ruff family attended.
BTW...here's one for sale http://www.supercarclassifieds.com/p...item__code=501

The yellow one is ex race spec.
2 993 GT1 Street (one is in the US, one in the Porsche car pool)
23 996 GT1 Evo Street (to make 25 all in all)
1 996 GT1/98 Street (only one was necessary for FIA GT 1998)
~20 993 GT1 racecars were made, most of them were transfered to 996 GT1 Evo tech and looks, only a few survived as 993 GT1s
5 996 GT1/98 racecars were built, one prototype, two works racecars and two for team Zakspeed.

I think that should be 544bhp, not 700. I also believe that the original owner of the yellow car has posted on this thread. Greg A
