A question on seats.....

Hey everyone, Im preparing my order for my 997.2 GT3 and have a question regarding the seats. I am considering the Standard Sports Seats and the Adaptive Sports Seats.

I had the adaptive sports seats in my old 07 997TT and didnt find them useful at all. I am 6'3" 250 lbs - built like a football player - so I never really got to utilize the "adaptive" aspect of the seats - to be anywhere close to comfortable I had to have everything on the widest setting.

Have these changed at all or should I just save some $$ and stick with the Standard Sports Seats. I was considering the Sport Bucket Seats but would like to be at least a little comfortable!

thanks!

are you going to track your car? If you are, save your money and get proper seats for a 6 point

I would consider that, but around-the-town comfort is of greater importance than the track days.

Go test the seats up-front. All of them are available now in other models too.

I have the sport bucket seats in my 997MY08 TT. The are the biggest pain in the ****...literally...if you are a big guy. I had the adaptive sport seats ( waste) in my C4s, but wanted the Buckets...great for a short jaunt, but hard on the behind. I am 6'3" and and I am trading my TT ( never fell in love with ti) for a june 08 ( allocatio) GT3. I have spec'd the regular sport seats, and will get aftermarket seats if I need to.

heated, Adaptive sport seats are a waste in this auto.
just my opinion

+1

I'm 6'4" 250lbs and now I have the 996GT3 seats, borderline OK.
They are just OK on the street (It's my daily driver.) and just OK on the track (25+ days a year.)

The new seats that you can option from Porsche seem the way to go, they fold so you can actually put something behind the seats and look a but more supportive and bigger than the 996 GT3 seats.

But before I place the order I will test-sit one. I think they are the same as in the GT2.

Well, I do not fit the 2 setaers like, S2000, Miata, Lotus, Z06, Z350, Cayman.

So for tracking that leaves the GT3..

We're lucky that the best track car is a 2+2..

I find the sports buckets the most comfortable seats offered.
