1. porsche 997 GT3 RS manual transmission

2. Driver side of ceramic break pad needs to be replaced.

Could be left and right side of pad worn down diffrently ?

3. front side of pad worn down with slant line.
Is the Pad fine with slant line?

The leading edge of the pad on the ceramic setup always wears at a higher rate. This has to do with the brake piston size difference. Periodically the pads need to be swapped to even out pad wear. This is normal.

I am becoming more disenchanted every day about PCCB. I have read many similar stories like this on low mileage cars. Seems they are only good for going to the grocery store. Spirited driving and especially track driving just burn up these brakes. I have come to the conclusion that they are not worth the price, unless you switch to metal rotors when you buy the car, and then put them back on when you sell it. Porsche should redesign these to last under severe conditions or they are useless and a ripoff.

If you track the car with PCCB, my understanding is that you need to use the Porsche Motorsport green pads which cannot be used on the street because they need to be warmed-up to be operative.

But even if used with the green pads, when the rotors are dead the replacement cost is impossible to justify no matter if you can afford it or not...

Pads I expect to wear out, the rotors should be able to go way longer than they do, especially for the price. I consider the current rotor design a failure.

This my second car with PCCB and what I noticed most is there is something like sand that is left or the rear rims after my runs, I guess it's the rotors and pads ...nothing on the front.
On 6GT3 it never happen even with the P50 pads!

I fear for the rear PCCB's on my GT2 and I am thinking of going to a steel rear rotor....I do not see another choice.

Do you track your car with the Traction Control ON ?

I had an issue with my rear rotors and pads when I was driving with TC ON. I had then to replace the rear pads twice as much as the front pads. Since I drive with TC OFF (with no change in car handling and feeling), no more issue with that. I guess that the TC system is always working under strong acceleration at the exit of corners without being intrusive so you don't even notice.

Agreed, I was going to turn off the TC & SC at Mosport but chicken out yesterday...maybe next time. After driving a 6GT3 for 5 years I am still getting used to the GT2's 600HP/575 TQ.
