Gt3 a.s.s.

How many 2010 buyers got free Adaptive Sport Seats, when they ordered the standard spec? It seems that the majority got a free $2,300 upgrade, however, some did not. The freebies were distributed from the very first cars to present. I am curious what the ratio is?

I remember. Mine was a Nov build and I didn't. A friend had his car built the same day or within one day of mine and he got them. Some of the very first cars in July got them and some built after mine did. I know of at least 10 members between here and Rennlist who got them for free.

Love the car but it does disturb me a bit. I feel equally bad for those who ordered them when many are getting them free.

The factory probably had an inventory supply problem. Shortage of regular seats and an abundance of the A.S.S., so rather than hold up the production line, they put in the free upgrade. Otherwise we all know Porsche doesn't give anything away for free, unless it's advertising promos.

Yeah, I agree, but when they are giving so many away for such a limited number of cars, it seems rather unfair.

Dang, I'd be disappointed if my GT3 arrived with the adaptive sport seats. Those things are heavy and have no place in a GT3.

That's my opinion, too. I'm currently shopping for a used 3 and I just hate it when I see them. Does anyone here recommend them as a must-have option? Maybe I just don't understand how useful they are. I just know how much they weigh.

the a.s.s seats are 23 pounds heavier per side so you're looking at 46 pounds added to your 3. like hauling a grade school kid with you at all times lol

they are def not a must have and the fact that the stock GT3 seats hold you like glue, its actually a downgrade to get the adaptives.

the other thing about the a.s.s is it only helps people who are rail thin or moderately heavy as they can close the wings or pull them apart for better fit. it doesnt help you if you are normal size or very fat.

they cost more to manufacture is why its an +price option. but really a downgrade in performance.

^ Wow, that much weight! You're making me feel better now.

Bara, I tried to get a picture which would suit my initial thread. I can see why you'd expect a different topic.
