You guys with centerlocks need to get your nuts torqued!!!
^Yeah. I've had that too. I think that's why they changed the spec again. If the spring is not all the way out, you can have trouble. To this day not many techs know about this problem or pay attention. It's not fully engaged unless the spring is fully out.
No issie with the nuts yet but i'll keep an eye out. I'll run it this weekend at Spring Mountain
Center locking Pin
Page 3 and 4 of the center locking instructions talks about the center spring that need to be flush. For the life of me i can't get the spring to pop out so its flush. If i loosen it enough so that I can trun it by hand to the left and then to the right it will pop out. But then when I torque it, it goes back in and won't pop out. Any suggestions?
Guys I got it! I followed the tightening procedure to a tee and it's flush. It said tighten it to the torque spec of 444, then loosen it 1/6 of turn and then back to 444 and it pops out flush every time.
You just got lucky........
I'll take all the luck I can get. But I tried on all 4 wheels several times and it work. Its just like if you losoen it to the point where you can use your hand turn it left and then right and it pops. Try it and let me know. But in case it was luck what do you mean by screw in a bolt and then back off with a wiggle???...which bolt do u mean the center lock???
The trick is explained in the TB Porsche sent out. All you need to do to get the spring lock to pop out flush is to insert the square drive of the breaker bar 3/4" drive into the spline area and twist until the spring mechanism pops out flush. Please award me some rep points if you like this suggestion.
