sw3.9

I am thinking of doing the 3.9 kit from Sharkwerks and would like to get your advice on it. I have a 997.1 (2007) white gt3 that I love, with about 10,000 mile on it. I have read everyone posts that I could find on the subject and I take it everyone quite happy with the results.
My concern is since I’m up in Calgary, Alberta; sharkwerks is a long haul if I have issues.

So have you had any problems with the 3.9?

Is it worth the price?

Any concerns on resale value of the car since the conversion?

Would you do it again or buy a 997.2 gt3 rs and keep it stock?

I would ship my car to sw and drive it back to Canada in early spring.

A member by the name Snowboarder54 has it on his GT3 and loves it. Speaks nothing but good things about it and he drives his GT3 quite frequently as well so he is probably your best bet for information.

I certainly do not want to twist your arm... there's 9 cars out there now but if you can I would suggest maybe at least flying down and trying our car out first. That way you know what it's like and whether or not you want to go down that road. Obviously I enjoy mine but...

Oh I can say without a doubt one of the drawbacks of the 3.9 is it's bad for tires. Snowboarder USED to get at least 2800 miles from his tires and that figure has indeed gone down a bit Around 2300 or so

Haha, not entirely accurate however close! The first 37,000 miles or so I averaged just shy of 3200 miles per set of rears, since the 3.9 I have been getting around 2,700, the last set was less as I discovered the joy of 100 octane fuel! So it does have a major draw back!! However well worth it ! Oh, and there is the brakes!! They don't seem to last as long eother!!

I totally trust Alex, James and Dan @ Sharkwerks. I've had both of my 2008 Porsches modified by Alex and crew. They don't sell/install any BS items or "upgrades".

If you need a place to stay a day or two near the Fremont shop, let me know (I'm about nine miles away) I could even pick you up at the airport.

Just one Porsche owner to another.
