997.2 GT3 track wheel/tire setup

Anybody have any suggestions for the centerlocks? I know the tire sizes are limited in 19".... What are the options and recommended widths? I'm planning on going with the Hoosier R6.

What are some good, reasonably priced wheels?

Thanks!

We make 18x9/18x12 as well as several 19 inch setups for your car.
These are forged, very light and make a dramatic difference in vehicle performance.

I'm running GMG's. They are 19's. I would have preferred 18's due to the many tire brand choices with 18's. If you are buying new, get the 18's. I just got too good of a deal on the 19's to pass it up. There are some great choices out there. I'm not a fan of anyone's price, as there are not many GT3's produced so the costs of production are too high.

Anyone running 245 on the front? 245-305 seems like it be a good track combo?

I ran both 19 and 18" GMG wheels last year. Pirelli Trofeo's on the 19's and Hoosier R6's on the 18's. In the dry, the Hoosier's are the way to go. I ran both 245/35 with 315/30's and 255/35 with 335/30's. The Hoosier's need a more aggressive suspension set up, which may influence your decision if you're going to drive a lot on the street.

Here's a pic of the 18's with Hoosiers

Well put. I run R6's all the time. -3 in front, and -2 in back with a car lowered and track suspension. Running on the street is bad for this and tires wear out. Fast. You can only live in 1 world. Mine is on the track. But, with my setup, I can get close to cup car times. I said close, not there.

Are the Pagids a street friendly pad for a car seeing 7-8k miles and 7-8 track events annually?

58spdstr, you have no issues running the 335 tire?
My 997.1 RS with the suspension set up there's no way I could get away with it.
Personally I believe that the good track tire choices out there now come in 19's so the 18" arguement has become less valid. You can find great "R" cpd track tires in 19".
IMHO the 19's look much better. The 18" look small especially in a 3 piece wheel with a step lip.

Anyway just an opinion.
