Gt3?
Gt3?
Guys need your help on deciding what porsche to get for between 45 to 65 k thats my budget I would really like a late model 996 gt3 or a early model 997 gt3. Are there any other porsches that are worth it? I was thinking about the Carrera but want yall's opinion. I know there are other cars that I could get for that price range but I just want a porsche i've got porsche fever
Will you track it? There have been discussions on street vs. track use ad nauseum both here and on RL. If you track a lot, 6GT3. If you track some, but spend a lot of time on the street, 7GT3. If it's to be a street car, Turbo. My $.02 worth.
It's certainly "good enough," but IMO, a Turbo or an S (996 or 997) would be better as a DD.

I could drive the 996.2GT3 or the 997.2GT3 every day on the street or track. Frankly, I feel they both have a fairly supple ride given the class of car they fall into. Others would disagree. Some people are more sensitive to carbonation of their cerebrospinal fluid.
I really doubt you'd be happy getting a 997 for $65k. It's going to have almost no options (you say you'll drive it often) and will be probably modified and beat to hell on a track, a dangerous thing with no warranty. A good low mileage CPO car goes for 20-30k more than that. People talk about buying cheap 997 GT3's on here but I just don't believe it personally.
I think you'd be much better off getting a pristine 996 for that budget.
GT3 is fine for daily driver as long as you don't have any really rough roads and don't drive more than 30-40 minutes at a time. I drive mine 10 miles round trip every day.
