Annual svc

This coming November I will have owned my GT3 for one year, and under the CPO I will need to take it in for annual service.
What will they do to the car, besides an oil change?
And, how much should this annual service cost??

TIA,
Mr. B

If it is a four year service, you may need a cabin and air filter (check to see if you really need them), oil and filter if that hasn't been done in a while and a multipoint inspection. I had the 4 year done on mine, but the miles are so low (at the time it was 9K) that I needed an air filter and oil change. I chose to get a brake flush because it should be done every 2 years minimum - more if you track a lot (I needed it for a DE anyway). My bill came up to $500 or so which included a thorough inspection. I think the plugs might need to be changed as well at 4 years of in-service due to age, but I have not done it yet. That gets pricey.

That's my experience, but it was the 4 year service - not sure on what is needed for a one-year for your CPO. I would imagine you are looking at an oil change and inspection if you already had the four year done as part of the CPO process.

Thanks. This gives me a frame of reference. My car just hit 14K miles and I do track the car.

Curious to know what was done for the $564? Also, what are your impressions of the car after owning it for a year now?

Oil change, new wiper blades, thorough check of just about everything on the car you can think of, inc. brake pads, PCM, drive shafts, and just about everything else.

My impressions after a year of ownership haven't changed. I am an SCCA racer and a regular HPDE Instructor. I had the opportunity to drive a 996 GT3 on the track and it was SO much better than the M3 I had that I immediately sold the M3 and got a 2006 C2S. I put Borla headers and exhaust on that car and drove it until I could step into my current 997 GT3.
So, I've had it a year now and I still love it.

Summit Point is hosting an Instructor's Appreciation Day on 12/3/2001. My GT3 and I will be there, unless it snows.

Thats awesome! Thanks for the feedback. That seems very reasonable for all of the things they did. I'm driving a lightly modified 335i now and will be in the market for a GT3 in about 6 months or so... I love to hear how great these cars are in all aspects whether it be performance, drivability, or reliablilty. I'm looking forward to having one in my garage soon!

What was nice too, is that Porsche of Arlington introduces you to the mechanic and you can go back and talk to him while he works on your car. So, I got to see a very thorough tech spend two hours with my car. When all the work was done, they hand wash the car too.

If you have no track experience you're going to see a huge difference, on the street, between your 335 and the GT3.
