Airbag light after roll bar install
Airbag light after roll bar install
I spent a day taking out my seats and installing a tequipment roll bar in my 2005 GT3. Unplugged my seat belt plugs in rear panels also. Got everything reinstalled and realized battery went dead from doors being kep open so long. Airbag failure light is on. Am I doomed to try and find a dealer to reset and check for faults. I've got no one around for hours.

Reset at dealers required.
Not a big deal other than the drive you face. Will take all of 10 minutes.
You can also invest a couple of hundred to buy your own Durametric instead. Push come to shove, ask if someone has one in you area.

anyway, i had a bud with a durametric who helped me out.hey, OP, is it your center console ("passenger airbag off") light? or the dashboard red airbag light? FYI, my center console light could NOT simply be cleared with a duramet/PIWIS. i went from stock seats to the GT2 buckets and even tho i cleared the fault, the center console light stayed on. it seems that sometimes the AWS needs to be recalibrated. until then, the light will stay on / the bags will be inactive because the ECU cant detect passenger seat weight. only a PIWIS can do this calibration. however, you can trick the system cheaply by using a duramet to turn off the AWS feature - the ECU will no longer be analyzing the weight of the seat thus the bags will be active all the time.
good luck
It only has the red airbag failure message on the display screen and the red light stays on in the dash . Sounds like I need to spring for the dura metric , which I can use on my cayenne tt for also. Next time I'll be disconnecting the battery . Thanks for the replies
I had disconnected the seats, door airbags and steering wheel's airbag with no problem, as long as I disconnect the ground from the battery first.

I just found a cheaper solution for you... a Porsche PIWIS cable on EeBay... 49$.
I am considering buying one, just in case.
Several appear to have used the cable in question successfully.
Cheers!
