Its Official PDK GT3

http://drive.porsche.com/us/articles...ration-911-gt3

1) PDK Only with some enhancements. I like it, but wont be selling my Gen 1 997 RS. Unless someone offers me silly money.

I like the rear wheel steering technology, 475 HP with 9000 redline, PTV and the sequential shift technology also looks good. Cant wait to hear a bypass on that engine at 9000 RPM.

2) Curious what they will do with the RS version, but with this gearbox 7 speed, sorta limits them? Comments?

3) Comments on value of 6 speed Gen 1 & Gen 2s? This should seal the bottom and possibly see them appreciate in value as collectors cars? Curious for opinions on that.

4) Last with 475 and PDK, the 0-60 is 3.3 is likely conservative, my Box S w PDK is crazy off the line fast. Cant wait to drive one of these hopefully.

i think this is a consideration for emissions, more than anything.

The 4 wheel steering is the deal breaker to me. I'd like to hear from others how it feels on the track when your tires break loose.

I can't imagine the RS coming with 4 wheel steering... To save weight I'd like to see them ditch the rear steering and a proper 6 speed manual for the RS.

I want the manual too, but you are underestimating the importance of the 7 closely spaced ratios. The GT3 really needed this before and now with 9k revs, it will need it even more. Hope it's a 7M.

The power, red line, and that rear wheel steering have my interest
I am curious however to try this new PDK. I was never a big fan of it.

I will wait for the .2 however.

21s are Panamera compatible

You can swap them out with most Panamera wheels....JK obviously......

Seriously, I thought 19" wheels were the best option for race handling, etc.

The adage of "Money doesn't necessarily buy taste" comes to mind. Companies make chrome colored Bugatti's, Lamborghini's, etc... because there is enough of a demand to warrant the development and sale of the product.

I wouldn't be surprised if some guy decided to mount 22"s shiny spinners on the GT3 for the cheer purpose of "just because I can".
