GT3 head unit upgrade

Looking to upgrade the stock head unit to a touch screen. I'd like to keep the existing speakers, just want the modern feature of an interactive screen.
Any recommendation?

I have a kenwood ddx 319 because my stock pcm2.1 would not always turn on reliably. Got this because I wanted a backup camera to see beyond the wing when I am backing up into my paddock space on the track with 6 pt belts and Hans-type device (can't turn head much)
has a wire for pandora/ipod. Can play DVDs too (parking brake engaged)
More expensive units have bluetooth and nav (didn't need). I can use earbud and google maps on iPhone.
Consider also looking at pioneer head units.
price is $$ mainly due to labor of snaking wire to rear license bracket.

Mine done at Benchmark Motoring in Bellevue, WA (wanted no issues). I kept the stock unit anyway.

The new Pioneer units advertises that you can use iphone apps on screen too. However I have heard that it's not compatible with iphone 5... Any one have experience?

I currently have a Kenwood in mine, but going to swap it out soon for a Pioneer. Always had Pioneer's before, tried the Kenwood for the first time but just don't really care for it...

That would be a mistake based on sound quality. I have had every Pioneer through the avic1140BT and now have the latest DNN9990 from Kenwood which is by far the best aftermarket HU on the market. The Alpines offer the best sound with their DSP modules but the graphics are circa 1989. The Kenwwods are a perfect mix of features, sound and now graphics.

I have to say that Kenwood looks pretty cool - I especially like the Garmin Nav.
Thanks
