It truly shows how great a car the GT3 is...
Tonight I was heavily searching the archives for some information and numerous times (at least 5) I came across statements about TT owners stating that they wouldn't be changing over, or prospective owners talking about how they would buy the TT over the GT3. At least 5 of these times, the person ended up buying the TT only to sell it after a shortwhile and now either owns a GT3 or has one on order for early next year. I keep seeing it over and over again in the archives of 6speed. Just an interesting trend.
Its especially funny when you come across a long winded argument about how their TT is the better car for them, and at the bottom of the message in the signature region you see something mentioning a '04 delivery GT3.
Adam, You know how it is, the Turbo and GT3 will appeal to different people and suit different needs, I love to drive the Turbo and think its a great car on the other hand also enjoy to go out and drive a raw car, I like them both, but havent driven a GT3 yet.
Parker, The GT3 has gotten so much good press, seems like its all it is made out to be, for what you get maybe this will be the 996 with a limited downside, we shall see.

I'm one of those TT owners who are on the fence about getting a GT3. Although I hardly ever track my car, I'd still like to own a raw sports car like the GT3 for canyon carving weekend fun!
I'll probably never get to try one until I buy it...so until then, I'll just have to rely on posts on messageboards and the press. So far it's positive

I have actually heard the opposite
I was told by a good source at Champion that people who move "up" from a Carerra to a GT3 are very happy.
People who move "down" from a Turbo especially from a tuned Turbo are displeased with the power loss. Champion has had a few people who have sold recently purchased GT3's to go back to a Turbo. The one for sale on Rennlist is a good example, that owner is willing to trade for an older Turbo.
I, myself, Prefer the GT3. I think a pre-owned low mileage one will be my next Porsche. I don't think I will ever buy brand new again! after watching the Porsche market take a dive bomb like it has.

Jeru, The Porsche market wasnt this soft, the 993 was a strong car for resale, they built very few in comparison to the 996, the 996 was over produced and the resale is very soft, the 996 probably depreciates 1.5 times a year than the 993 did, its sad but Porsche just cares about profits and shareholder value not the consumer.
It would not surprise me that the people who went from turbo to GT3 back to turbo, probably did not test drive one first. Basically, the turbo is a softer ride, even with suspension mods, quieter, there is more cabin insulation and it does'nt shake, rattle and roll(Figure of speech, there is no body roll). These are the qualities of a true race bred sports car....The ones that I most desire...
Just my two cents from a very happy GT3 owner who would never trade it for a TT modded or not( I test drove both). I would however, like a tt as a second 911 for a different driving experience followed by a CGT to round out the collection... :-)
